This Christmas, for the first time ever, I decided to wrap my gifts in wrapping paper. In the past, I’ve avoided this practice, in favor of the “gift bag and tissue paper” approach. The latter is simple and easy, the former, time consuming and difficult. And yet, for whatever reason, this year I chose to snip, fold and tape up my gifts—with surprising precision for a noob, I might add. Even more surprising, at least for me, was how enlightening the whole experience of wrapping gifts proved to be.

As a Rutgers student, I am constantly bombarded with pizzerias’ pamphlets in New Brunswick and the neighboring town of Highland Park. Though there are more than nine different places on Easton Avenue alone that offer pizza, all are extremely different. Being a vegetarian and a student means I look at the options a pizzeria offers regarding freshness, amount of vegetables on a slice of pizza, and value for my money. For a few days I went to several local pizza shops and tried one or two of their vegetarian options.

I had the pleasure of sitting down with Mandy, a 20 year old Chinese Rutgers Student. Mandy is a self-proclaimed devout Catholic. She is also a self-proclaimed virgin; but depending on your definition, you might not agree. Despite being very involved in her church, Mandy says that her religion does not play a large role in her abstinence. Let’s dig a little deeper, shall we?
