Letter to the Editor from Le Ngo
Dear the Editor of the Johnsonville Press,
As a part of a class project at Rutgers University, I came across a website that evaluates many charitable organizations to help donors make the most informed decisions. The website is Charitynavigator.org. Because of its high level of helpfulness, I feel the need to share my knowledge of the website to as many people as possible, hopefully through the help of the Johnsonville Press.
Biking in New Brunswick ~ Rebecca Zandstein
Since I have been a student at Rutgers I have noticed the increaFolding Bike in New Brunswicksing amount of bicycles on campus. When I was considering my commuting options for my last semester at Rutgers,I realized that since jetpacks aren’t available to the public yet, my best option was to start cycling. Now that I have become “one of the pack” I am able to understand the ease and relaxation that cycling brings. But I have also come in contact with horrid drivers who prefer that I be squeezed between two cars. Guess I can never be too thin, eh?

College in the Hands of an Angry Frat Boy – John Gideon
Can an otherwise respectable student go Greek and maintain his respectability?
Hi there. My name is John. I like baseball, cheeseburgers, and going to the movies. I am a student at Rutgers University. I study political science. I am also in a fraternity. Won’t you be my friend?
It’s true. I did it. I took the plunge, and I don’t care who knows it. I went Greek, and am now a full-fledged brother in a full-fledged fraternity. No, this isn’t one of your mamby-pamby co-ed honors frats or pre-professional organizations. My fraternity comes complete with a rigorous pledging process, a big house with our letters on the front, and a reputation for throwing a wild party.
Deeper into the Hub City: A Tour with Bill Bray – Ben Kharakh
In his last piece, Ben Kharakh took a tour of New Brunswick with Charlie Kratovil, local political activist, to get an inside view of the Hub City. This week, Ben took the time to tour the city with Bill Bray, City Spokesman to incumbent Mayor Jim Cahill, in order to get the other side of the story. Bill spoke of his time in New Brunswick and some of the city’s positions on low income housing the “swing space” school on Jersey Avenue, and initiatives to combat littering.
School or Warehouse? – Ben Kharakh
Some people call Rutgers “Slutgers”. I don’t like that name because it perpetuates the stigmatization of female sexuality. If I wanted to, I’d call it “Notverygoodgers”, but I wouldn’t call it that either because I don’t really get angry. I’m like Bruce Banner, except my inner Hulk is also Bruce Banner.
I also can’t really tell you what I think of Rutgers because I transferred in the spring of ‘09 and I’ve been a commuter until recently. Being a commuter is like going to an all you can eat buffet and then eating more than your fill to get your money’s worth. You leave with a stomachache and realize that you haven’t gotten your money’s worth at all and that you should have just lived on campus. So, I put down my knife and fork and moved into a place half a mile from College Ave.
